Harley Byers Harkness

Harley B. Harkness, 83, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on February 11, 1931 in Gary to the late Jonathan Ashbury and Winifred (Ferguson) Harkness. His first marriage was to Ruth VanEvery on September 5, 1953 and she preceded him in death on January 5, 2009. Then, on September 20, 2009, he married Jeanette Anderson in Monticello and she survives. Harley is also survived by daughters, Ashlee (Bill) Zimmerman of Lafayette, Harla Williams of Grissom, IN, Margie (Jim) Reynolds of Monticello; son, Jon "J.B." (Cali) Harkness of Hollywood, Maryland; brother, Jack A. (Rose) Harkness of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Private Memorial Services have been entrusted to Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the Twin Lakes PTO Kids Fund.
