Guy J.D. Biggs

Guy JR Biggs, 93, of Monticello, passed away at 3:30 pm , Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his residence.He was born on April 10, 1925 in Warren County Indiana to the late Guy and Ruby (Swank) Biggs. His first marriage was to the former Edith Pearl Brisker. They later divorced and she preceded in death. On September 3, 1966 in Lafayette, he married the former Dariel Joan "Jenks" Jenkins and she preceded him in death March 6, 1988.JR was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII. He moved to Monticello in 1964 from Ohio. Guy always had a smile on his face and a hat on his head. He knew how he wanted things done. He enjoyed a simple life and his routine. Those who were lucky enough to come in contact with him never forgot him. There is more than likely a story to be told whether from the bank, pharmacy, dentist office, or the physician's office. The girls at the hospital might even be able to offer an anecdote or two. Some may have seen him as stubborn or even set in his ways, but in reality, perhaps he was really a fella who had experienced more than most and wanted it his way. Anyone who knew JR will have his footprint etched in their hearts until that day when they meet him again. He is survived by a son, Jay D. Biggs of Portsmouth, OH; several nieces and nephews; one grandson; and very special friends Steve and Christy Buschman and family who passionately cared for JR and loved him as extended family.In keeping with JR's wishes, he will be cremated and no services are planned.Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.Leave a message or a memory at www.springerfuneralhome.com
