Gregory "Gregg" Bidle, 67, of Monticello, passed away at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his residence.He was born on November 15, 1948 in Kankakee, IL to the late Charles and Maxine (Henry) Bidle. On November 29, 1969 he married the former Penny Tesmer at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello and she survives.Gregg was a 1966 graduate of Monticello High School and served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He then did apprentice training with IBEW and was a 43 year member of the local 668. He worked as an electrician for Long Electric for 35 years from which he retired in 2011. He attended Hickory Grove Church. He liked fishing, wood working, and above all cherished time spent with his grandchildren, Hunter, Tanner and Addie. Gregg never missed a sporting event, loved taking them on vacation, and taught each one of them ride a bicycle. His oldest grandson, Hunter, had the opportunity to take Gregg for his last ride in his Chevy truck, which he gave to Hunter for his first vehicle. Gregg dearly loved the hills of Tennessee, especially Cades Cove.He is also survived by a daughter, Laura (Louie) Coble of Burnettsville; two sisters, Jeanne Williams of Monticello and Patty (Dean) Blackburn of Lafayette; grandchildren, Hunter,Tanner, and Addie Coble all of Burnettsville; two nieces; extended family, Cindy and Dan Hanenkratt of Monticello; and his loving loyal pets, Dexter and Miss Kitty.He was also preceded in death by a nephew.Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Funeral services celebrating Gregg's life will be at 10:30 am Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Smith of Hickory Grove Church officiating.Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello with full military rites. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hickory Grove Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
