Evelyn M. Hammersley

Evelyn M. Hammersley, 91, of Monticello, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 at her residence.

She was born on March 22, 1935 to the late Joseph Russell and Charlotte (Whalen) Dilling.

She was a graduate of Monticello High School and went on to work at several restaurants including Sportsman, Forvm, Benno's by the Bay, Crab Pot and Moe's.until the age of 72.

She enjoyed crafting, making baskets and bead jewelry and crocheting.

She is survived by daughter, Michele E. Margison of Monticello; son, John (Barbara) Bowman of Las Vegas; brother, Richard Dilling of Lafayette; grandchildren, Paul (Alea) Landrum, Felicia Bowman, Sebastian Tan, Devin Tan, Julian Bowman; great grandchildren, Jessi, Bryce, Aspin, Landon.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Gambino.

A time for friends and family to gather will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Friday, September 18, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
