Eldine Alice Dahlenburg, 93, of Monticello, formerly of Reynolds, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at White Oak Health Campus. 

She was born on July 7, 1930 in Loda, Illinois to the late Alfred and Esther (Ennen) Hartke. On October 7, 1950 she married Richard "Dick" Dahlenburg at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds. He  preceded her in death on February 24, 2016. 

Eldine was a 1948 graduate of Chalmers High School and a graduate of The International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a life member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, where she was active in various capacities in the church including her involvement with Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Ladies Aide, and helped with the church bulletin. Eldine was primarily a homemaker, but also worked for Diener Seeds and on Monday nights at the Reynolds Sale Barn. She enjoyed collecting antiques especially glassware and dolls.  Eldine and Richard enjoyed cruises and traveling. 

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Hites of Buffalo;  brothers, Gene (Karen) Hartke, Bob Hartke;  sisters, Donna (Bruce) McCormick and Diane (Scott) Crum; one granddaughter, Heidi (Travis) VanMeter and one grandson, Lewis (Sarah) Hites, IV; six great-grandchildren, Audrey, Layla, Cohl, Hudson, Ada Rai, and Addy. 

She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lewis Hites, III; sister, Joyce German and a brother Bill Hartke.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services celebrating Eldine's life at  noon (EDT) at St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds with Pastor Andrew Keller officiating. 

Burial will follow at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Reynolds. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the St. James Lutheran Church or to The White County Ag Association (Beef Pavilion) checks payable to White County Ag Association (memo Beef Pavilion) 12 N. 25 E. Reynolds, IN 47980.  Envelopes will be available at the church.
