Dorothy Jane Tapp, 85, of Monticello died at 11:14 pm, Sunday, August 26, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette. She was born October 30, 1926 in Monticello to the late Roy and Ruth (Hamilton) Haas She attended the First Assembly of God located on Beck Lane in Lafayette. She attended high school in Monticello and she also attended Purdue University. She worked in food service management and as hostess for many years at Wabash College and also at Morris Bryant. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and traveling. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Surviving is a daughter, Belinda Vickers of Pensacola , FL; son, John F. (Pamela) Sissons of Tacoma, WA; 2 sisters, Phyllis Leader of Monticello, Carol (Wayne) Todd of Idaville; brother, William (Joy) Haas of Idaville; 10 grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and an infant brother. Memorial visitation will be from 4pm until the time of 6pm memorial funeral services, Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Charlie Roberts officiating.
