Dorothy J Bodie

Dorothy J. Bodie, 92, of Monticello, passed away at 7:55 am, Friday, October 3, 2014 at Monticello Healthcare. She was born on March 6, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lesile David and Bertha (Koonce) Sanders. In June of 1943 she married Michael Bodie in Harvey, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Bodie was a member of the Church of God in Harvey, Illinois. She loved to read and watch the news. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Joseph) Lombardo of Monticello, Linda (Rick) Farber of Cape Coral, FL; one son, David Bodie of Manteno, IL; four grandsons, Bob Hornung of Monticello, Christopher Bodie of Monee, IL, Ricky Farber of Crestwood, IL, Joey Lombardo of Crestwood, IL; five granddaughters, Brittany Farber of Chicago, IL, Ashley Christensen of Manteno, IL, Amelia Bodie of Tinley Park, IL, Holly Dockery of Manteno, IL, Calli Bodie of Manteno, IL; and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Bodie and a sister Janet Guess. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm, EDT until the time of services at 2:00 pm, EDT, Monday, October 6, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F in rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
