Doris D. Miller, 82, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at White Oak Health Campus.
She was born on September 23, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL to the late William and Johnnie (Musselwhite) Newsome. On December 7, 1973 she married Gerald L. (Jerry) Miller in Jacksonville. He survives.
Her first job was at the age of fifteen at Dairy Queen. There she developed her love for strawberry milkshakes. She worked as a clerk at Southern Bell until she retired. Doris had a strong and sincere passion for animals. She loved dogs, cats, birds, squirrels and deer, embodying the essence of Snow White. Her spirit animal was the elephant. Doris enjoyed flowers and loved coffee.
In addition to her husband, Jerry of Monticello, she is survived by her children, Cindy (Rob) Ballantyne of Jacksonville, Fl and Lee (Robin) Miller of West Lafayette; siblings, Paula (Aldo) Vivano of Orlando and William Newsome; grandchildren, Corinne and Madeleine Miller, Nicole (Ryan) Emens, and Andrew (Heather) Ballantyne.
