Donna Sue (Hendrix) Bernacki Lappellere, 61, of Dyer, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at her residence.
She was born on October 14, 1964 in Greenville, KY to the late Wendell and Louise (Mitchell) Hendrix. On April 20, 2026 she married Daniel Lappellere, Jr. in Munster, IN. He survives.
She was a graduate of Muhlenberg Central High School in Powderly, KY and received an associate's degree from Purdue University Calumet. She worked for Bryce, Downey & Lenkov for almost 23 years in Chicago and Crown Point. She also managed her husband's rock bands.
Donna enjoyed RVing, fishing, boating, driving the back roads and computers. She was passionate about her family, friends and pets. She lived life on her terms.
In addition to her husband, Daniel, she is survived by son, Kyle Bernacki of Dyer; daughter, Emily E. Bernacki of Dyer; three sisters, Tabitha Hendrix of San Antonio, Mary Goldston of Jeffersonville, Karen Raney of Jeffersonville; five brothers, Danny Hendrix of Selmer, TN, Douglas Hendrix of Central City, KY, Jerry Hendrix of Central City, KY, Nate Hendrix of Dyer, IN and Wendell Hendrix of Belvedere, IL; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy and Robin Hendrix, niece, Talitha Karstens.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 2026 from noon until the time of services at 2:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Russ Alley officiating.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to a Humane Society of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
