Donald R. Farnsworth

Donald R. Farnsworth, 86, of Monticello, passed away at 8:05 pm, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.He was born on November 6, 1929 in Loda, IL to the late Ralph S. and Lauree B. (Martin) Farnsworth.He was a graduate of Idaville High School and was in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He attended Purdue and began farming in 1950 in Idaville. Don liked to repair CB's and radios and in Don's own words, he "tinkered and configureated electronics". He was a member of Monticello Christian Church.He was also preceded in death by his brother Gerald W. Farnsworth. He is survived by close friends, Diane (husband,Wayne) Schroeder, Alden Schroeder, and Galen Schroeder all of Idaville.Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services celebrating Don's life at 12:30 pm (EDT) Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Monticello Christian Church Elder, Larry Crabb will officiate services.Private burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetey in Loda, IL.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
