Donald L. Snider

LaPorte, IN Donald L. Snider, 85, of LaPorte, passed away at 8:10 am Friday, March 11, 2016 at Washington Christian Village in Washington, IL. He was born Sept. 3, 1930 in Bloomington, IN to Martin and Margueritte Polly Snider. He married Barbara Biederwolf on July 6, 1954; she preceded him in death in Jan. of 1982. He later married Mary Stence in South Bend, IN on June 15, 1983. She survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Cathy (Bob) Gross of East Peoria, IL; 2 grandchildren, Matthew (Jillian) Gross of Chicago, IL, Caitlin (Ross) Somerville of Creve Coeur, IL; 2 step-sons, Craig (Tina) Stence, and C.J. Stence both of LaPorte, IN; 2 step-grandchildren, Kaela and Roe Stence both of LaPorte, IN; 1 sister, Betty Whitley of Monticello, IN; and 2 brothers, Terry (Penny) Snider of Monticello, IN and Jerry Snider of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister and 2 brothers. Donald was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He worked as the Welfare Director of LaPorte, IN before retiring. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 1 pm (EST) on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monticello. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 81 in Monticello, IN.
