Dell Englerth Guy, 82, of Monticello, passed away at 5:07 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at her residence. She was born on May 28, 1932 in Wilmot, Arkansas to the late Emmett and Lois (Crossley) Englerth, and later Nixon. On June 1,1951 she married Robert W. Guy. He survives in Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Dell started out as a telephone operator in Shreveport, LA. Due to Bob's Air Force career, they moved many times living in Arkansas, Louisiana, England, California, Germany and Ohio. They finally settled in Monticello in the Fall of 1967. Dell had a long work history working in the White County Recorders office, and served two terms as White County Auditor. In her late 40's, she went back to college and became a paralegal and worked for ten years for Courtney Justice Law office in Logansport. She received her Associates Degree of Science majoring in paralegal studies from Vincennes University. She and her husband co-owned a concession stand at Indiana Beach from 1975 until her retirement in 2009. After the tornado, Mrs. Guy was instrumental with the Arbor Day Society in getting the flowering trees planted around the city. She enjoyed history, reading, traveling, gardening and cherished time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Along with her husband, Bob, she is survived by her children Jack (wife, Brenda) Guy of South Bend, Connie (Gary) Hardin of Kilgore, TX, and Mindy Guy-Price (husband, Ron Price) of Kilgore, TX , Laura Vaughan (Husband, Chad Collier), Fischers; brother, Harry Englerth of Roanoake, VA; sisters, Billie (Victor) Oliver of Bismarck, AR and Ruth Hendricks of Monroe, LA; five grandsons, Wes Hardin, Robert Price, Matt Hardin, Mike Guy, and Mark Guy; and long time special friend, Lana Paxson (husband, William "Bo" Cowger), of Monticello. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Guy; and brother, Harold Englerth. Visitation will be from 3pm until the time of services at 7pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Sue Ringenbach of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Graveside funeral services will be at 2pm (CT) on Friday, May 8 at Wilmot Cemetery, Wilmot, Arkansas. Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home in Hamburg , Arkansas has been entrusted with care there. Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry or to Happy Tails with envelopes available.
