David L. Ziemer

David L. Ziemer, 76, of West Lafayette, formerly of Monticello passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born on April 5, 1950 in Lafayette to the late Lyle Eugene and Donnadeane (Westfall) Ziemer.

He was a 1968 graduate of North White High School and a 1972 graduate of Purdue University. He went on to serve six years in the United States Navy and was aboard the U.S.S. Midway. After his military service he worked as a school teacher for a number of years.

David was a life long Lutheran and a former member of New Hope Lutheran Church. He was a former member of Monticello Odd Fellows Lodge #107, AMVETS and the American Legion Post 81. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his brother, John (Vera) Ziemer of Chula Vista, CA; sister, Janet (Don) Wiley of Monticello; several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and a great-great niece.

Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until the time of services at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor John Westfall officiating. You may also view the service at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1404627

Burial will follow in Bedford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice to benefit disabled veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
