David L. Lottes

David L. Lottes, 80, of Monticello died at 4 pm, June 14, 2013 at I.U. Health White Memorial Hospital, Monticello. He was born in Dubois, IN on October 7, 1932 to the late Gilbert P. and Irene J.(Souders) Lottes Stanton. He married Josephine Anderson on September 4, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello and she survives. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello and a 1950 graduate of Bell Creek High School. David received a Bachelor's Degree from Ball State University and a Master's Degree from Ball State/Purdue University. He was a veteran of U.S. Navy Medical Corps from 1951-1955 and served in the Korean War. David worked as a school teacher in Indiana for thirty years and served as Interim Curator for the White County Museum from 1989 - 1992. He also served as Secretary of the Old Settlers Society from 1989 - 2000. He was a member of the White County Retired Teachers Association, White County Historical Society, American Legion, Phi Gamma Mu Honorary History Fraternity, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Indiana Historical Society. He is also survived by one daughter, Arricka Lee (Paul) Dunsford; two sons, David Anderson "Andy" Lottes (significant other, Anne Bartlett), Aaron (Tina) Lottes; four grandchildren, Isabelle Dunsford, Emma Dunsford, Zakkary Lottes, Jenna Lottes; two step-sisters, Jean Schuck and Joan Lytle; one step-brother, H. Don Stanton. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Jo Lottes who died at birth on August 24, 1961. David's body has been donated to the Anatomical Education Program of Indiana University School of Medicine. It was his wish to not have a funeral service, but to have a private graveside service for his family. Condolences can be made to the family through cards or letters addressed to Josephine Lottes. Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the Indiana Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
