David W. Burton, 65, of Monticello, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born on March 28, 1960 in Anderson to the late Darrell Burton and Patricia (Hughes) Pitts. On June 7, 2014, he married Christie Kerby. She survives.
David was a 1978 graduate of Anderson High School. He served in the United states Army and went on to work as a truck driver transporting food for Pasquale. He enjoyed putting models together, collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia, playing chess, playing guitar, spending time in his garage and grilling out for the family. He loved his dogs.
In addition to his wife, Christie, and his mother, Patricia, he is survived by; three bonus children, Bobbie (Andy) Simmons of Attica, Joshua Turner of Lafayette, Tricia Turner (Ryan Gard) of Lafayette; three siblings, Beth Ann (Roger) Solis of Monticello, Regina Lynn (Doug) Rhodes of Decatur, IL, J.R. (Diana) Burton of Anderson; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Burton, and step-father, Donald Alvin Pitts.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Tim McQuinn officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Happy Tails or an animal shelter of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
