Daniel A. Nelson

Daniel A. Nelson, 58, of Lafayette, passed away at 2:02 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his son's home in Monticello.He was born on October 28, 1959 in Colorado Springs to Josephine (Zinzer) Nelson who survives and the late Donald Nelson. On April 28, 1984 he married Trudy Nelson in Chicago. Dan graduated high school from Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center and worked as a Telecommunications Installer. He liked gambling, including slot machines and poker. He was a chocoholic and loved his Hershey bars. He was a Chicago sports fan excluding the White Sox. His family was his priority and he cherished time spent with them. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. Also surviving are sons, James (Stacy) Nelson of Lafayette, and Tim (Sarah) Nelson of Monticello; two brothers, Mark Wayne Nelson of Chicago and James Nelson of Evanston, IL; twin brother, Donald (Julie) Nelson of Round Lake, IL; grandchildren, TJ, Christopher, Austin, Alexander, Anthony, Wyatt, Neo, and Sky; and his faithful companion, Sammy.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
