Connie Jo Maffett, 79, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at her residence.
She was born on August 25, 1945 in Rensselaer to the late Kenneth D. and Alberta (Sterrett) Miller. On June 8, 1963 she married William Maffett at the Chalmers Baptist Church by her grandfather, Rev. Everett E. Baker. William survives.
She was a 1963 graduate of Chalmers High School. She worked different jobs over the years that let her take summers off to be with her children but was primarily a homemaker.
She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Delphi. Connie was very athletic and a great skier. She performed in ski shows at Indiana Beach when she was younger. She was an excellent cook and made the best casseroles and homemade noodles. She liked to crochet and collect nik naks. She cherished time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, William, she is survived by four children, Cheryl (Scott) Richardson of Indianapolis, Tim (Taina) Maffett of Monon, Randy (Suzy) Maffett of Lafayette, Kris Maffett of Monticello; brother, Greg Miller; five grandchildren, Sam Ralston, Eli (Wendy) Ralston, Payton Maffett (partner, Dakota Chamberlain), Lacey Maffett (fiancé, Aaron Roman), Jason Nelson; great grandchildren, Holly, Melli, Finn, Luci, Sammy.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Maffett.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Harold Rutledge officiating.
Burial will follow in Chalmers Cemetery.
