Christine 'Chris' Mary London

Christine "Chris" Mary London, 63, of Monticello, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born on April 15, 1959 in Chicago to the late Raymond and Frances (Kaminski) Lilja. On September 27, 1980, she married DuWayne London in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2011.

Chris was a 1977 graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago. She had owned and operated London Cleaners, a custodial business with her late husband, worked at Indiana Beach and had worked at the video store and tobacco shop. She liked crocheting, bingo, arts and crafts, cooking, and Facebook. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughter, Melissa (Eric) Fregoso of Monticello; son, Michael S. (Jessica) London of Lafayette; siblings, Jackie Herrera of Monticello, Phillip (Marie) Lilja of Greeneville, TN, Kenneth Lilja of MN, Sandy Gonzalez of Chicago; grandchildren, Alicia London, Isaiah Fregoso, Izabell Woodhouse; and grandpuppy, Arlo.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Fran Lilja; husband, DuWayne London; in-laws, Irv and Bette London; aunt & second mother, Mary Ann Sier; two nephews, Joe & Chris Lilja; and brother-in-law, Frank Gonzalez.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Brian Beeks officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help offset expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
