Charles W. Collins, 88, of Monticello passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 6:30 am at his residence. He was born September 19, 1919 in Colburn, IN to the late Charles R. Collins and the late Nellie (Yelton) Collins. His marriage was to Helen Luse on February 16, 1956 in Flora. She survives in Monticello. Mr. Collins was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He was a spooler for Alloy Rods retiring in 1983. He was a member of the VFW, AmVets, and the Eagles lodge # 2570 all of Monticello. Survivors include: Daughter, Carolyn Rodenbarger, FL; 2 Sons, M.D. (Flora) Collins of Skiatook, OK, Dave (Becky) Hurd of Monon, IN; 2 Sisters, Donna Belle Nance of Burnettsville, IN, Opal M. Grider of Danville, IL; 6 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents; and a son Ronald Charles Collins. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 26, 2007, 10 am with the Rev. Matthew Pickut from the Monon United Methodist Church officiating.
