Carolyn "Jo" Willhoite

Carolyn "Jo" Willhoite, 76, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.

She was born on June 2, 1948 in Warsaw to the late Clarence Eugene and Leona (Sturgeon) Loutzenhiser. On August 27, 2009, she married Michael Willhoite at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Noblesville. He survives.

She was a graduate of Brookville High School and received an associate's degree in nursing from Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis. Carolyn worked as a floral designer at Fairfield Florist in Indianapolis. She then started her nursing career at University Heights on the south side of Indianapolis, St. Vincent primary Care in Indianapolis and retired from Dr. Thomas Moore's office as office manager in 1999. She worked her career as a dedicated nurse.

She was a member of Monticello Christian Church. She was also a member of Crystal Chapter OES. Carolyn was an amatuer painter using oil, water color and pastel, but her favorite was oil. She enjoyed flower gardening. Her favorite was the Casa Blanca Lilly.

She is survived by three children, Michael Wayne Lykins of Connersville, Michelle Jones of Noblesville, Jodie Farmer of Shelbyville; step daughter, Heather Locker of Indianapolis; close friend and caregiver, Jense Mercado of Monticello; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Gabbard.

There are no services planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be given to Tunnel To Towers, an organization that provides homes for veterans with disabilities. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
