Carol L. Skaggs

Carol L. Skaggs, 57, of Monticello, passed away at 9:15am , Friday, September 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born on September 23, 1957 in Rensselaer to the late Clarence Gilbert and Edith (Perry) Gilbert. Her mother Edith (Paul) Nist survive in Monticello. Carol was a 1975 graduate of Rensselaer High School. She worked in the office of the Gary Credit Union for several years, moving to Monticello in 1984. She is Survived by sons, Timothy Skaggs of Monticello, and Daniel "D.J." Skaggs of Schaumburg, IL; brother, Dale (Teresa) Huesing of Ft. Myers, FL; sister, Kathleen Alberts of Demotte; brother, Barry Gilbert of Canfield, OH; brother Clarence Gilbert, Jr. of Remington ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from noon (EDT) until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm (EDT) Friday, September 18, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello, with Father David Rasner from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry or to the Boys and Girls Club of White County with envelopes available at the funeral home.
