Bonus “Bo” Springer, 4, of Monticello passed away on January 6, 2024 unexpectedly at Purdue University Small Animal Clinic Emergency Room in Lafayette.
Bonus was a handi-capable, beautiful red Doberman rescue with three legs. Born with a birth defect that crippled his right front leg, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. We thought we rescued him, but in fact, he rescued us. He was loving, loyal, playful, and smart. He loved to ride in the car and go to work. He sometimes cheated when doing zoomies by jumping over the back of the couch instead of going around it. He liked to snuggle, and he liked to chase rabbits. When rabbits were within eye-shot, the leash was just a suggestion.
He is survived by his loving pet parents, Randy and Kathryn Springer; his dog brother, Butler; and his human sister, Katelyn Castle.
Memorial donations are encouraged to Bluegrass Doberman Rescue or a pet rescue facility of the donor's choice.
