Bonnie L Tam

Bonnie L Tam, 57, of Monticello, died at 1:54am on Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Vincent Seton Hospital, Lafayette She was born on June 28, 1956 in Rochester to the late Clyde and Hazel (Howisein) Weppler. On April 5, 1981 she married Paul Tam in Winamac. He survives. She was a member of Monticello Christian Church and a graduate of Winamac High School. Bonnie worked in banking for more than 32 years, beginning with State and Savings Bank and continuing with Wells Fargo following the merger. She was a member of Crystal Chapter OES #165. She was fond of animals, especially humming birds and cats. She also enjoyed reading. She loved cooking and baking and was known for her cakes and banana nut bread. Bonnie is also survived by two brothers, Harold (Sandy) Weppler of Wolcottville, Ken (Doris) Weppler of Winamac; brother-in-law, Larry Kopka of Francesville; niece, Mandy (Scott) Gibson of Westfield; great-nephew, Cody Gibson of Westfield; great-niece, Cayley Gibson of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Kopka. Visitation will be held from 4pm until 8pm, Monday, August 12, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday, August 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Monticello Fire Department Gift Fund or to Monticello Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
