Beverly L. Carmichael, 85, of Monticello, passed away at 1:50 am, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Monticello Healthcare Center. She was born on February 21, 1930 in West Point to the late Gus and Frances (Linedecker) Fountain. On April 24, 1948 she married Frederick Carmichael in Hammond and he preceded her in death June 15, 2001. Beverly was a graduate of Brookston High School and worked as a customer service representative for Sears in Monticello from which she retired. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello where she loved volunteering for church dinners and bazaars. Bev grew up on a farm and enjoyed being outdoors. She loved gardening and working in her lawn, especially when she lived on the lake. She was an excellent cook and was known for her baked chicken. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Surviving are her children, Linda Carmichael of Stratford, WI, and Frederick G. (Juli) Carmichael of West Lafayette; grandchildren, Erin (Ben) Hall, Kristine (Shane) Cullina, Brian (Debbie) Gallien; and a great-grandson, Christian Gallien. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Cleo, August, and Charles Fountain; half brother, John Brose; sisters, Ardys Garvin, and Mary Mikels; and half sister, Pearl Brose. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. The Presbyterian Deacons Prayer Circle will meet at 4:45 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, at the funeral home with Rev. Thomas Albaum of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello with envelopes available at the funeral home.
