Betty Lou Jones

Betty Lou Jones, 82, of Monticello, died at 3:55 am, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Monticello Health Care in Monticello, Indiana. She was born on August 10, 1931 in Maysville, Kentucky to the late Henry and Goldie (Hamilton) Guy. On October 24, 1950 she married Dan Jones, Jr. in Marion, Indiana. He preceded her in death in May of 1986. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Westview Wesleyan Church in Jonesboro. Mrs. Jones worked at the Kmart in Marion, Indiana for 25 years. She loved to do crafts and word find books. Her grandkids were a big part of her life. She loved to walk and sit out on her swing. She is Survived by a daughter, Patty Dianne (Ray) Petty of Buffalo, IN; a son, Dan "Cork" (Doris) Jones, III of Cypress, TX; Brother, Ernie (Jane) Guy of Vanburen, IN; three granddaughters, Jamie (John) Lang of OH, Casey (Tommy) Knight of OH, Maranda (fiance, Shaine) Petty of OH; grandson, Derek Jones of TX; seven great grandchildren, Aidan, Nick, Natalie, Aliyah, Sammy, Julian and Remie. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Daphne and Sandy; three granddaughters, Jeannie, Valerie and Pammie; a brother Wayne Guy; and a sister, Laura Charles. Services for Mrs. Jones will be held privately. Burial will be at a later date. Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello, Indiana is entrusted with care.
