Betty Ellen Lawson

Betty Ellen Lawson, 96, of Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

She was born on June 11, 1928 in White County near Wolcott to the late Robert H. and Clara B. (Vaughn) Lawson. She married Noel Lord and he preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Monticello High School and graduated from the College of Commerce in South Bend. She worked at Indiana Bell in an executive capacity from where she retired. 

She was a member of Crystal Chapter #165 Order of Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society and a modeling club in South Bend. She enjoyed traveling the world, flower gardening, feeding birds and squirrels, collecting golf balls and shopping. She especially cherished time with her family.

She is survived by sisters, Patsy Jo Manes of Grandville, MI, Shirley Ann Krieg of South Bend; brother, Robert (Sharon) Lawson of Hoffman Estates, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Noel, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Meadors.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm celebrating Betty's life on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Harold Rutledge of the Buffalo Christian Church will officiate services.

Burial will follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
