Araceli "Sally" Gutierrez

Araceli "Sally" Gutierrez, 69, of Summit, Illinois passed away at 7:10 pm, Saturday, March 9, 2024.

She was born on October 6, 1954 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Eleazar Gutierrez and Beatrice Gutierrez Fuentes.

Sally married Joseph Vogrich in Oaklawn, Illinois. He survives in Buffalo.

Sally graduated from Argo Community High School in Summit, Illinois. She had worked for Parklawn School Corporation in Oaklawn, Illinois as a job coach for disabled youth. Sally had recently been working at Triple R Daycare in Oak Forest, Illinois, where she loved taking care of the infants and toddlers. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening. Sally and her husband Joe, loved portraying Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus for many years.  

Along with her husband Joseph, she is survived by two step daughters, Denice Vogrich of Oaklawn, IL, Lisa Vogrich of Chicago Ridge, IL; three step sons, Joseph Vogrich of Alsip, IL, Michael Vogrich of Oaklawn, IL and David  Vogrich of Palos, IL; one sister, Bertha Saucedo of Chino, CA; three brothers, Gilberto Gutierrez of Summit, IL, Jesus Gutierrez of Brookfield, IL and  Flavio Gutierrez of Summit, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Sally is preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Gutierrez and sister Maria Ignacia Lopez.

A memorial service celebrating Sally's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 11:00 am at Springer-Voorhi-Draper Funeral Home with Fr. Dan Duff officiating.  The family will receive visitors following the memorial celebration until 1:00 pm. The funeral home is located at 202 S. Illinois St. Monticello, IN.
