Anna Scripter

Anna M. Scripter, 80, of Burnettsville, passed away at 4:15 am, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.She was born on May 21, 1936 in Jasper County to the late Kenneth A. and Alberta (Wentz) Pearson. On May 8, 1954 she married James L. Sterrett in Brookston, and he preceded her in death. On February 20, 1992 she married Roy Scripter in Louisville, KY and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2003.She graduated from Chalmers High School and worked at RCA and then was an Assistant Manager at WalMart in Rochester from where she later retired. She attended The First Baptist Church of Monticello and the Union & Jackson Extension Homemakers Club. She enjoyed Silver Sneakers at Sculptures, crocheting, gardening, Euchre and cooking - especially deserts. She was a fan of the Colts and Cubs and a dog lover. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.She is survived by four children, Jim (Sue) Sterrett of Cairo, GA, Jeff (Cathy) Sterrett of Idaville, Rex Sterrett of Burnettsville, Lori Weida of Burnettsville; daughter-in-law, Tammie Sterrett of Terre Haute; five brothers, Cecil of Orlando, FL, Norman (Jean) of Wolcott, Dennis (Vicky) of Lafayette, Carl (Colleen) of Lafayette, and Mike (Pam) Pearson of Monon; and sister, Debbie (Brad) Franklin of Monticello; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen Sterrett; brothers, Gene and Vernon Pearson; and sister, Doris VanMeter.Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services, celebrating Anna's life at 1:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating.Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
