Alva L. Miller, 92, of Monticello, Indiana died at 2:20 am, Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Whispering Pines. He was born August 20, 1920 in Churubusco, Indiana to the late Lilan and Velma (Keltner) Miller. His marriage was to the late Juanita "Jackie" (Waters) Miller on November 16, 1962 in Gary, Indiana. He attended and graduated high school in Churubusco, Indiana and served in the Army-Air Corps. He was co-owner and operator of Jackie's Mobile Home and Travel Trailer Sales formerly of Gary , Indiana for over twenty-five years until he and his wife retired in West Palm Beach, Florida. He also served as County Commissioner of West Palm Beach for a number of years, Past President of Collation of Boyton West Residential Association, and was a very active and loyal member of the Democratic Party. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Ed) Comes of Lakeland, Colorado; two grandsons, Scott Combs of Cleveland, Ohio and Brent Combs of Lakeland, Colorado; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Combs of Cleveland, Ohio. Also preceeding him in death is his brother Charles Miller. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Oak Grove Christian Church.
