Alma Rose Redmon, 86, of Reynolds, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at her residence.


She was born on February 11, 1937 in Monon to the late Harry and Valeria (Bulington) Johns. Her marriage was to John Howard Redmon. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1988.


She attended Monon High School and was a homemaker. She was a founding board member of the White County Food Pantry and a member of the Crystal Chapter #165 Order of Eastern Star. She preferred to be outside and mowed her own yard until about a year ago. She loved gardening and used her electric chainsaw for small jobs. Alma cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She was a member of the Reynolds United Methodist Church and participated in Methodist Women Canning. She was a RUM (Reynolds United Methodist) Woman.


She is survived by grandson, Scott Inman of Reynolds; granddaughter, Kelly Inman (companion, Brad Merkamp) of Centerville, IN; and great grandchildren, Brad Merkamp Jr., Kayden Merkamp, Paige Merkamp, Malaki Merkamp, and Johathan Inman.


In addition to her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Georganna Blunk; great grandson, Nathanial Inman; and brothers, Harry Jr,, Merle K., Paul R., Jerry M., Samuel E., David L Johns, and infant brother, George Edward Johns.


Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services celebrating Alma's life at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. An Eastern Star service will be at 12:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.


Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.


Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.
