A. Louise Spangle, 78, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born on June 14, 1947 in Idaville to the late Clarence and Katherine (Sausman) Sparks. On August 1, 1970 she married Kenneth Spangle at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Monticello. He survives.
She was a 1965 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church where she was very active. Louise was an excellent cook and baker. Thanksgiving dinners are memorable to her family. She enjoyed flower gardening and reading and studying her Bible.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Hardebeck of West Lafayette, Michael (Tricia) Spangle of Monticello, Melanie (Doug) Fish of Plainfield; seven grandchildren, Madison (Geoff) Caldwell, Patrick (Madisyn) Hardebeck, Lauren Hardebeck, Bryce Britton, Brayden Fish (companion, Ally), Gavin Fish, Allison Fish; two great grandchildren, Elliott Caldwell and Hazel Fish; brothers-in-law, Bill Criswell of Idaville, Ralph (Judy) Spangle; sister in law, Donna Musall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Sondra Criswell, Jack Sparks, Linda Gallinger and infant sister, Angela Sparks.
Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 followed by visitation until 8:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Miller the celebrant.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
