Shirley Jean Weaver, 69, of Monticello, died at 11:20 am, Friday, March 11, 2011 St. Elizabeth East Hospital of Lafayette. She was born June 22, 1941 in Chalmers to the late Dewey R. Vaughan and the late Opal M. (Harper)Vaughan- Prouty. Her marriage was to the late Wayne N. Weaver on July 26, 1959 in Monticello. Mrs. Weaver was a graduate of Twin Lakes High School. She was a member of the Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church. She owned and operated Shirley Jean's cafe, located where Kinser's Bakery is today. She was a member of the AmVets and American Legion Auxiliaries both of Monticello. Mrs. Weaver helped coordinate the AmVets events and the Indiana Soldiers home Christmas party. She was an avid bowler and loved gardening and traveling. She is survived by One Son, Todd A. (Phyllis) Weaver of Washington State; 4 Daughters,Terri K. Altman of Monticello, Tonya S. Lakey of Hurst, TX, Tamara I. Conrad of Brookston, Debra J. Conover of Monticello; 2 Sisters, Bonnie (Earl) Chancey of Pinellas Park, FL, Rita (Roy) Holston of Pinellas Park, FL; 10 Grandchildren; and 9 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church, 1100 Poplar Dr. Monticello. Funeral Services will follow at the church at 7:00 pm, with Rev. Ross Terry officiating. Burial will be private at Riverview I.O.O.F cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church.
