Ruth Harkness

Ruth Harkness,76, of Monticello, IN passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 8:24 p.m. at her residence, after a short illness. She was born on December 11, 1932 in Ohio to Waldo and Warren Weidner (Harris) VanEvery. She married Harley Harkness on September 5, 1953 in Albuquerque. He survives in Monticello. Mrs. Harkness worked at White County Memorial Hospital, first as a surgical and ER nurse. Later, Mrs. Harkness was the Director of purchasing at the hospital, retiring in 1988. She is survived by: 3 Daughters, Ashlee (Bill) Zimmerman of Lafayette, IN, Harla Williams of Bunker Hill, IN, Margie (Jim) Reynolds of Monticello, IN. Son, JB (Cali) Harkness of Hollywood, MD. Brother, Dee (Flo) VanEvery of Gaylord, MI. 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and One Brother. Private Memorial Services have been entrusted to Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.
