Richard R. Laszczewski

Richard L. Laszczewski, Sr., 82, of Monticello, passed away at 3:15 pm, Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Indiana Veterans' Home in West Lafayette. He was born on July 23, 1933 in Chicago to the late Francis and Josephine (Samec) Laszczewski.On April 23, 1955 he married Grace Allen in Chicago. She survives in Monticello.Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, Monticello. Richard was the Junior Vice Commander and member of the American Legion in Chicago. Richard worked as an engineer for the Chicago Board of Education. He was also a fireman. He was an excellent worker and never stopped working. Richard enjoyed bowling. .He is survived by son, Richard R. (Mary) Laszczewski Jr. of Monticello; two daughters, Kathy (Mark) Diener of Monticello and Kristen Laszczewski of Chicago; two brothers and one sister; six grandchildren, Erin, Katy, Ryan, Eric, Kyle, Mikolai; and two great-grandchildren, Koehn, Korbyn.He was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.Services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded GI or the Salvation Army.
