Richard Lee Flamme, 73, Monticello died at 12:05 pm, Monday, May 2, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on January 25, 1938 in Miller, Indiana to the late Sherman and Josephine (Blackman) Flamme. He married the former Cecilia Brunke on June 3, 1995 in Monticello. Dick worked as a brick layer for U.S. Steel from which he retired. He was a life member of the VFW Association. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, and a member of the Sons of the AmVets. He was also a member of the Redmens Lodge. He is survived by three daughters, Gail (Jerry) Mullins of Claypool, Indiana, Christine (Ron) Shemka of Clearwater, Florida, Connie Flamme of Warsaw, Indiana; son, Scott Flamme, Florida; two brothers, Bob Flamme, Dan Flamme; sister, Betty Wunschel; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lyle Flamme; and a daughter, Tammy King. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm, Saturday, May 7 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm, Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview I.O.O.F.
