Natalie Ann Gerhart, 30, of Monticello, died at 10:00pm, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis. She was born November 7, 1980 in Logasport to Stephen "Steve" and Debra "Deb" (Plotner) Rhodes. They survive in Logansport. Her marriage was to Christopher "Chris" R. Gerhart on November 1, 2008 in Logansport. He survives in Monticello. Natalie was a 1999 graduate of Logansport High School. She was a 2005 graduate of Indiana University majoring in elementary education, Natalie was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Logansport. She was a fifth grade teacher at Meadowlawn Elementary School in Monticello. Natalie coached Middle School volleyball and the math bowl. She was in the NE association. Natalie loved shopping for shoes and purses. She loved reading and teaching. Natalie loved her husband and all of her friends. She enjoyed boating and loved visiting New York. She is also survived by her Brother, David Rhodes of Chicago; Maternal grandmother, Jean Parish of Royal Center; Paternal Grandfather, Bob (Donna) Rhodes of Rochester; Mother-in-Law, Patty Gerhart of Kokomo; Father-in-Law, John (Shelle) Gerhart of Cicero; Brother-in-Law, J.B. (Damla) Gerhart of Chicago; Grandmother-in-Law, Barbara Gerhart of Kokomo, Grandmother-in-Law, Jane Soupley of Monticello; Several aunts,uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by maternal grandfather Glen Parish; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Rhodes; grandfather-in-law Charley Soupley; grandfather-in-law Jack Gerhart; cousins, Blake Schmaltz and Skylar Whitehair. Visitation will be from 2pm to 8pm, Saturday, July 23 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service at the church on Sunday. Funeral Services will be at Calvary Presbyterian Church, Sunday, July 24, 2011at 2pm with Rev. Doug Mankell officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport. Memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Educational Foundation c/o the Natalie Gerhart Elementary Education Fund or to the Riley Hospital for Children. Envelopes will be avaiable at the funeral home.
