Mona Bode Burns

Mona Bode Burns, 89, of Monticello, died at 7:55 pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born July 28, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Arthur and Clara (Kenkel) Bode. Her marriage was to Ramon Burns on July 22, 1950, in Cicero, Illinois. He preceded her in death December 24, 2000. She had worked for Sears and Roebuck. She also worked at Indiana Beach for a number of years. She is survived by three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Bode, and a sister, Bernetta Bode Donisch. Visitation will be from 1 pm until 2 pm, Monday, May 23, 2011 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Ross Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to White County Council on Aging.
