Mary Lou Mohler, 76, of Monticello died at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She was born January 20, 1936 in Monon to the late Marvin and Jessie (Seward) Spear. She was a member of the Guernsey Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Monon High School and worked for RCA until its closure and then at Monon Trailer. She appreciated being home and treasured time spent with her family. She enjoyed baking and was known for her sugar cream pies. She also enjoyed cooking. She fondly reminisced and told stories about her childhood farm days. She is survived by her sons, Doug (Lorrie) Mohler of Delphi and Gary Mohler of Monticello; three brothers, Robert Spear of Monon, Carl (Donna) Spear of Logansport, and Melvin (Linda) Spear of Mexico, Indiana; two sisters, Opal (Chuck) Rayburn of Rensselaer and Shirley (Jerry) Bunnell of Monon; six grandchildren, Adam, Grant, Samantha Mohler, Angie (Chad) Armstrong, April (Matt) Arthur, Ashley Brown; seven great grandchildren; one great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceeding her in death was a sister, Helen Louise Spear, an infant sister and brother, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Spear. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of services at 1 pm Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Spear officiating. Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given according to the wishes of the donor. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
