Martha R. "Marty" Hallett, 80, of Monticello, passed away at 8:30 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 28, 1938 in Waupun, WI to the late Willard and Ruth (Hanson) Bodie. On April 28, 1956 she married Richard Hallett in Colorado Springs, CO. They were married for 60 years. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2016.
Marty was a graduate of Rhodes High School, where she was a cheerleader and basketball player.
Marty was a customer service representative at Target in Anaheim, CA from which she retired. Marty moved to the lake in 2000 where she and Richard loved spending time with family and friends.
She was an avid reader, bingo player, and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She was a member of AMVETS Post 91 in Monticello. Surviving are her children, Steven Hallett, Lori Clark, and Jamie Heazeltine all of Monticello; special niece, Deborah (Chris) Waymire of Monticello; her grandchildren, Richard J. and Randall Hallet, Tracey (David) Dilday, Katie Krask, Codie Clark, Sarah (Caleb) Camp, Erin and Andrew M. Heazeltine, Kristen Link and Laura Wheeler; and 4 great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Hallett and a granddaughter, April Krask.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until the time of services celebrating Marty's life at 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be given to AMVETS Post 91. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
