Marjorie 'Dee' Kilmer

Marjorie Dee Kilmer, 95, of Monticello, passed away at 6:30 am, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.She was born on November 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Warne) Braugh. On February 23, 1947 she married W. B. "Bill" Kilmer at the Monticello United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2010.She was a 1941 graduate of Monticello high School and was primarily a homemaker. Before her marriage to Bill, she worked as a telephone operator. She also worked as a cook at Yeoman Elementary School while the boys were young. She later worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at Monticello Floral for many years. She was a member of Oak Grove Church. She enjoyed cross stitch, reading, canning, flower gardening, and collecting Hummel plates. She was an excellent cook, collected cook books, and was always willing to try a new recipe. Anyone who knew her would remember her for her great sense of humor.She is survived by her son, Larry (Linda) Kilmer of Chalmers; two grandchildren, Jason (Patty) Kilmer of Brookston, and Jennifer (Brett) Foster of Otterbein; and eight great-grandchildren, Emily Kilmer, Abigail Kilmer, Tyler Kilmer, Justin Kilmer, Grace Kilmer, Annalise Kilmer, Ryan Foster, and Adam Foster.She was also preceded in death by her son, Mike Kilmer; and brothers, Robert "Bud" and Lowell Braugh.Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services celebrating Dee's life at noon Monday, October 8, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Dr. Ashley Cartwright-Peak of the Oak Grove Church will officiate services.Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to Oak Grove Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
