Marilyn Frances (Inskeep) Fischer passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 23, 2018 at the age of 95.She was born on October 27, 1923 in White County, Indiana to George Arnum and Flossie Harrison Inskeep. She became a member of the Monticello First Presbyterian Church of Monticello in 1937. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, Monticello, Indiana, 1941 and from Western College for Women, Oxford, Ohio, 1945. Following graduation, Marilyn worked at Eli Lilly and Co., Indianapolis, as a microbiologist until 1962. She married John W. Fischer in Monticello First Presbyterian Church November 2, 1957. He died June 26, 1989. The family moved from Indianapolis to Monticello in 1973. There, she worked as a substitute for Twin Lakes School Corp. from 1975 - 1992.As a youth, she was active in church, as well as school and 4-H. In her adult life, her activities included church, Tri Kappa, PTA in Indianapolis, PTO in Monticello, Union Township 4-H advisory committee, White County AARP and White County Retired Teachers Association.Survivors include three daughters, Mary (Mike) Burger, Indianapolis, Joan (Lyle) Scholl, Noblesville, and Ann (Wes) Stone, Carmel and seven grandchildren: Eric (Kylin), Megan and Rachel Burger, Austin and Abby Scholl, and Trevor and Jordan Stone. In addition, she is survived by two nephews, George M. Inskeep and David M. Inskeep.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, William K. Inskeep, and cousins, George E. Inskeep and Mark D. Inskeep.During her long life, she had many interests, including traveling, theater, going to movies, and reading. But most of all, she enjoyed just hanging out with family and friends.Visitation will be from 1pm until the time of funeral services celebrating Marilyn's life at 2pm, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello with Rev. Brandan Eddy officiating.Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monticello.Memorial contributions can be made to the Monticello First Presbyterian Church of Monticello or the Monticello Union-Township Public Library. In lieu of flowers for Marilyn's funeral, the family requests flowers be sent to someone special in your life.
