June D. Tillett

June D. Tillett, 89, of Monticello, died at 4:35pm Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born August 29, 1922 in Salem, IN to the late Vincent and Gladys (Thixton) Gordon. Her marriage was to Lester "Bud" Tillett on May 20, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives in Monticello. She was a 1940 graduate of Monticello High School. Mrs. Tillett was the chief of staffing of civilian personnel at Grissom Air Force base in Bunker Hill, from which she retired. Besides her husband "Bud", she is survived by a son, David (Lucy Anne) Tillett of Portland, OR; daughter, Jordan Tillett of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Gordon, Jr. Visitation will be from Noon until 2pm Sunday, January 15 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, with services following at 2pm with Rev. Brian Beeks officiating. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry, P.O.
