Josephine "Jo" Elizabeth Lottes, 82, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus.She was born on February 3, 1936 in Monticello to the late John and Gladys (Arrick) Anderson. She married David L. Lottes on September 4, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, and he preceded her in death June 14, 2013. She was a graduate of Monticello High School. She received her Masters degree from Ball State University, and she used this education to become an elementary school teacher. She later owned and operated The First Step Nursery School in Monticello for over 30 years.She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello and Ball State Alumni Association.She was a lover of arts and crafts including painting, drawing, and needlepoint.She loved time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Arricka Lee (Paul) Dunsford; two sons, David Anderson "Andy" Lottes (significant other, Anne Bartlett), Aaron Lottes (significant other, Stacy Snowberger); four grandchildren, Isabelle Dunsford, Emma Dunsford, Zakkary Lottes, Jenna Lottes; and two sisters, Ruth Gunther and Martha Wenz.She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Jo Lottes who died at birth on August 24, 1961; brothers, Raymond, Arthur, Wayne "Pinky", and Robert "Bob" Anderson; sister, Mabel Peck, Esther Brothers, Margaret Goffe, Mary Tam, and Lois Bridges.Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of memorial services celebrating Jo's life at 3pm on Sunday December 2, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello with Rev. Brandan Eddy officiating.Private burial will be in Pleasant Run Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello Union Township Public Library to benefit children's literacy. Envelopes will be available at the church.Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
