Harlan Hillis Hickman, 80 of West Lafayette died at 2:40am Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. He was born May 12, 1932 in Rensselaer to the late Claude and Viola (Marlow) Hickman. Harlan married Juanita Coffenberry and she preceded him in death. He graduated from Rensselaer High School and was self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver. Harlan was a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church and attended for years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Libanus Lodge #154 in Monticello and a member of the Scottish Rite. Harlan dedicated himself to his work and to his family. He was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Johnny Hickman; and 1 sister Goldie Spogis. He is survived by 1 son, Barry Hickman of Monticello; and 1 grandchild. Private Funeral Services will be held at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Rensselaer. Memorial Donations may be given to the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
