Elizabeth M. Jarrett

Elizabeth M. Jarrett, 90, of Monticello died at 6:30 pm, Thursday, July 22, 2011 at her residence. She was born October 8, 1920 in Chalmers to the late William and Elizabeth P. (Heimlich) Werner. She married Harry A. Walter in Rensselaer on December 21, 1940 and he preceded her in death August 30, 1963. In January of 1966, she married Andrew Jarrett in Monticello and he preceded her in death in March of 1985. Mrs. Jarrett had worked at the old Monticello Nursing Home when it was down town. She retired from RCA. She had been a member of the Ladies of the Moose and Friendship Club. She enjoyed playing cards especially bunko and euchre. She also loved flowers and gardening. Survivors include a son, Harry A. Walters, Jr. of Monticello; four daughters, Elizabeth Ann Walters of Monticello, Barb (Jim) Conrad of Monticello, Sharon Allie of Wolcott, Kathryn Sue (Mike) Storey of Delphi; brother, Paul (Joan) Werner of Medaryville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry D. and Terry L. Walters; daughter, Helen McDonald; two brothers, Art and Ed Werner; and a great granddaughter. Visitation will be from 1pm until 3 pm, Monday, July 25 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3pm Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Andrea Bremmer of Reynolds United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
