Colleen Vigus

Colleen Vigus, 89, of Monticello, passed away at 1:08pm, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.She was born on September 4, 1928 to the late Raymond and Dora (Larimer) Vernier. On October 26, 1980 she married Dwight Vigus in Monticello and he survives in Monticello.Colleen was a graduate of Monticello High School. She sold cosmetics and worked at the former Garden City grocery store in Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church, where she sang in the choir. She was an avid mushroom hunter and hunted in four states every spring. Colleen enjoyed dancing, flower gardening, and traveling. She traveled in every direction as far as you could go. She had a zest for life. She is also survived by seven children, Rick Reynolds, Lynette Nearon, Sabrina Westfall, Shane Shields, Ed (Diana) Vigus, Susie (Barry) Alpha and Cheryle (Jim) Turner; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.She was preceded in death by Gordon Westfall, Bill Reynolds and Raymond Shields.Friends may call two hours prior to services on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
