Alean Harris

Alean Oveal Harris, 98, of Monticello, formerly of Idaville, died at 8:15pm on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born December 23, 1913 in Barren County, KY to the late Ballard and Ida Belle (Jones) Logsdon. Her marriage was to Thurston Harris on January 30, 1930 in Glasclow, KY. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Harris was a homemaker. She worked over 24 years as a domestic worker. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Kentucky. Late in life she enjoyed bird watching where she resided at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary R. (Everett) Gillespie of Monticello, Nancy (Terry) Landis of Idaville; 3 sons, Wendell (Jackie) Harris, KY, Roundell (Sandie) Harris of Lafayette, Charles (Dorothy) Harris of Delphi; 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 54 or more great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Harris; three sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper. Funeral services will be at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10am with Rev. Al Rockey officiating. Burial will be held at Idaville Cemetery.
